I was recently looking at sex dolls online and really was shocked when I saw feet that actually look like real feet. I mean, it’s so weird to think of something that looks so human being used for what, well, isn’t human. It’s certainly an interesting topic to consider, and I don’t know how someone could actually have a real opinion until they see the feet in person. I remember when I was looking at them online, I couldn’t quite make up my mind yet – it was a 50/50 feeling. On one hand I thought it was a little creepy that something so lifelike was being used for sexual gratification, but on the other hand, I kind of wanted to see how it looked up close.
Despite my curiosity and confusion, what strikes at the core of my thought is, what’s the point of making something so realistic? I mean, they’ve got all the other features of a real person down—the eyes, the hair, the body—but why go to all that effort to make the feet as realistic as possible? Is it an over-indulgence in the details of the craftsmanship, or is there something more sinister happening underneath? Aside from the physical appearance, does it change the status of the experience and the relationship you have with the doll?
I’m not sure if I’ll ever get to the bottom of this issue, but one thing’s for sure, it made me realize that there’s a lot of work and effort that goes into making these dolls. Everything has to be exact so they don’t look out of place. And that in itself is quite an accomplishment. I mean, I get it, no one wants to deal with the hassle and the complications of dating and relationships, so why not just buy something and enjoy that instead? Unless it’s a conscious choice to enhance a relationship with a partner, or for other reasons, it just makes me kind of sad how lonely people are these days, and how something like the feet on a sex doll and the idea of buying a doll as a physical satisfaction is the only option for some.
